Canon BG-E8 for Canon T2i DSLR

Posted by Unknown on Thursday, April 28, 2011 | 7:21 AM

Canon BG-E8
It would be nice if Canon BG-E8 for Canon T2i DSLR had a few extra buttons on it but it has the main ones that I need to use available so that's just fine. I was tempted to go with an after-market brand unit but I decided seeing as I do use my camera a LOT it would be a smarter idea to go with a brand name unit.

I've had my unit attached to my camera for almost a year now and have loved it ever since. I enjoy being able to pop in "AA" batteries when I have killed my other 2 Canon lithium cells that I typically keep in the grip. I do a lot of portrait work and this helps to make it less awkward to handle the camera. Not to mention that the camera looks bigger to the client and makes them feel like it's something big and impacting to the photos I'm taking. Little do they know I am using the cheapest option that I was willing to settle for to do work that I would much rather have a 50D MkII for, lol.

All in all, the added power allows me to not have to worry about running out of power at weddings, balls, dances, games, whatever... Some events I can end up with 900 or better shots, that's a heck of a lot of shots and before I had the grip it would always end up that I would run out of power at just the wrong time! Now that's no longer an issue.

Most people don't really need a grip and probably shouldn't bother with it. I don't come across too many that take 900-1300 shots on a given day, with a T2i, lol. So unless you know that you need that constant insurance of extra power to go the distance don't bother with the expense. Canon BG-E8 for Canon T2i DSLR is a must have accessory regardless of hand size, and i recommend you to buy from this site.

Canon CB-2LX for Canon NB-5L

Canon CB-2LX
This Canon CB-2LX for Canon NB-5L is a well made battery charger and very easy to use. No long cord with a plug. It plugs right into the electric socket. Handy to carry with you. Great that you can have spare power to boot. It charges the battery very quick and it can be tucked into any pocket when done.

Exactly the charger that came with the camera. If you lost your charger that came with the camera, this Canon CB-2LX is exactly the same one. I looked for cheaper versions at Best Buy and other stores, but those chargers were all so much larger in size. This Cannon charger is so compact that it is easy to keep with the camera, and it seems to charge faster than the cheaper brands as well. Even when you leave the charger behind in a hotel room, it's great to know you can buy a replacement at a reasonable price.

otherwise, no complaints. I recommend you to buy at this store, cheaper than other stores.

Canon BP-819 for HF10 HF100 HF S HF M Camcorders

Canon BP-819
Canon BP-819 for HF10 HF100 HF S HF M Camcorders is the natural choice to make. This is the battery that should come with your video camera by default.

What do you do if you want to record events that last longer than 1.5 hours ? You upgrade the battery, right. The BP-827 (4.5h) is not easy available yet everywhere so the Canon BP-819 for HF10 HF100 HF S HF M Camcorders becomes the only choice.

It can last close to 3h and that's enough to capture most events. (Fireworks, school event of your kid, concerts, theatre etc.). With the external charger the battery is charged in roughly the same time (3h) with the cameras included charger its taking 4h.

This Canon BP-819 for HF10 HF100 HF S HF M Camcorders is also the best investment you can make for your HF-100. Whereas the default battery lasts under an hour, this one lasts easily over two hours with very little extra weight. It is a little larger but I find the larger size actually helps me stabilize while using the camera by placing my thumb under the battery. So, i would recommend you to buy the original one from this site.

Canon CB-2LV for Canon NB-4L Battery

Canon CB-2LV
Canon CB-2LV for Canon NB-4L Battery works like it's supposed to. No complaints. I like how it connects directly into the power source; very convenient.

Apparently, there are TWO VERSIONS of this charger, of which THIS ONE is a corded version that works perfectly well. There is another version with a slightly different model number CB-2LT that is the travel version with the fold-out AC plug built-into the charger. You'll pay about $10 more for the travel version - personally I think it's worth it... I would recommend you to buy Canon CB-2LV from this site.

Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack

Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack
Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack has great capacity, nice reporting features. My initial experience with the battery was less than stellar -- if you are currently disappointed with the battery capacity (especially if it's new), hear me out.

After the first charge out of the box, the single battery lasted about a day with maybe 100 RAW shots and a couple of minutes worth of 1080p video. VERY disappointing to say the least. But here's the thing -- it really needs to go through a couple of full cycles (full discharge, full charge) before it reaches its peak capability.

At the time of my last charge, I had shot well over 2700 RAW frames on two batteries -- and both of those batteries each reported 60% charge remaining at that point. Which brings me to the reporting features. If you are buying this as a second battery, then you are probably already aware of this, but the battery will report its charge level (with a 1% resolution), battery recharge performance, and number of shutter actuations since last charge. The 5D Mark II can then display this information on its Battery Info screen.

With two LP-E6's installed (via the BG-E6 Vertical Grip), the 5D Mark II will register both of the batteries and list their statistics simultaneously in the Battery Info screen. The Shutter Count numbers even operate independently. For example, after a long day of shooting (over 1500 frames), the Battery Info screen told me that Battery 1 was responsible for 806 frames, while Battery 2 was responsible for 746 frames. At this point, the batteries still showed a 78% charge on each one.

Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack is also used for Canon 7D. Other notable is the fact that the number of shutter actuations for each battery does NOT reset when the battery is removed. Its actuation count is saved, and if you later reinsert the battery (without charging it), the count will still be accurate for that battery. Once you charge the battery, the count is reset. Well, i recommend you to buy the original value from here!
