This is the original Nikon EN-EL4a battery for the D300 with MB-D10 vertical grip. Works perfectfly. The charge lasts forever. Don't buy the generic replacement for this battery, they DON'T work. Zeikos ZE-NBG300 for Nikon D300 D700

Let me start by saying that the Zeikos ZE-NBG300 grip is well worth its price. It is built well enough to handle most things thrown at it. If you plan on using this with smaller, lighter lenses, then it'll be perfect. I was using primes when I first started using the Zeikos grip on my D300s.

But then I started shooting sports (tennis and basketball) which require shooting vertically most of the time, putting more stress on the plastic Zeikos unit. I also bought the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX DG HSM II lens, which added even more weight and stress. The Zeikos ZE-NBG300 grip is still working, but it now creaks and I can feel it flexing in my hands when I'm shooting.

The only incompatibility issue I've had with my grip is when the batteries are very low, the camera will stop shooting. After unscrewing and reinstalling the grip, I can shoot another 100-200 frames before the batteries truly die. I would recommend you to buy Zeikos ZE-NBG300 from this site.

One thing to keep in mind is that while cosmetically it matches the D700 (and D300's) body, the construction is plastic. The plastic body doesn't feel that cheap (maybe a little compared to the D700's body) but it would be notably less durable than the camera it is attached to. If you drop your expensive D700 or D300 your camera will probably just fine, although it'll be very possible to crack the grip.

If you want something as durable as the camera its self, save up and buy the more expensive Nikon grip. Otherwise, in my experience, you can't go wrong with this grip. Use some of the money you saved for an EN-EL4a so you can get the improved FPS.

Something to keep in mind is that if you put another EN-EL3e battery in this grip (the standard battery that the D700 uses) you will NOT get the improved 8 fps. You will need to use a EN-EL4a or AA batteries (AA battery tray is included). If you buy rechargeable batteries, be sure you get decent enough ones that will be powerful enough for the increase in FPS. Rechargeable batteries with lower-than-alkaline voltage output may not reach the required voltage output to do this.

Nikon EN-EL15 for Nikon D7000 DSLR

Nikon EN-EL15 for Nikon D7000 DSLR is a battery so there's not too much to say, although this battery has enormous performance gains over the D90's EN-EL3e, I'm rockin' two of these suckers in my D7000 and I don't know when I'll actually need to charge them again since they've barely gone down at all after a week of heavy usage.

As each new camera comes out Nikon is updating the capacity of their battery hence the increase in price. One battery will last well over 900+ shots (not using flash of course). Though its just good measure to have a back up battery for peace of mind and if you are using the MB-D11 grip which too is kind of costly as well.

I take a lot of photos and never want to be without power. This Nikon EN-EL15 for Nikon D7000 DSLR proprietary battery lasts a long time and charges very quickly. Nikon EN-EL14 D3100 DSLR D5100 DSLR P7000

A genuine Nikon EN-EL14 D3100 DSLR, D5100 DSLR, P7000 for a great price. Just like most expensive cameras Nikon uses one that is proprietary. Customer convenience and price are always second to profits by the companies under the guise of better quality. Under cold conditions you better have an extra battery in your pocket warming so that you can get that shot. Thus I bought an extra battery. Two might be a good thing for extended cold shoots, but price starts to become a consideration at some point. I like the small size and the shape being irregular so that the battery only goes into the camera with one orientation.

Nikon EN-EL14 D3100 DSLR, D5100 DSLR, P7000 fits tightly and it doesn't pop out always. So far it drops with a little tap to the camera bottom, but it makes one fear that needle nose pliers or some other contrivance may be needed in the future to extricate the battery from the camera. What would be worse than having an extra battery in a cold location and not being able to remove the dead batter from your camera in the field with cold hands? At least this battery was cheaper than the $30-40 that some batteries cost. You may pay this price in a local camera store. Purchase on-line before your trip or cold weather shoot.
